Who is AAP Image?
AAP Image is an online image library of more than 1 million royalty free and rights
managed photographs. Our image library is one of Australia’s richest and most diverse
collections of stock photography, royalty free images, as well as rights managed
news, sport, entertainment, celebrity and fashion photography. We also have historical
images of Australia dating back to the early 1900’s.
AAP Image, a division of Australian Associated Press
(Australia’s national news agency), is the only image library with real-time, direct
access to the AAP Newswire. AAP Image enhances AAP’s local, international, finance
and sports news by delivering relevant and timely digital photography to the media
24 hours a day. AAP has staff photographers and contributors in each capital city,
Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and an affiliated network of regional newspapers providing
Australian-focused news and sports coverage.
Our newsroom images are also uploaded onto our website, making AAP Image the only
image library with the ability to provide you with news photography before it breaks
in the media.
Once registered with AAP Image, you can purchase our images for editorial and commercial
use, or even request an unwatermarked low resolution image to help you with your
pitch and concept work.

Royalty Free Collection
Our collection of royalty free photography continues to
grow. We now have over 200 categories of royalty free imagery from international
affiliates such as PhotoAlto and Comstock, as well as a broad selection of Australian
rights managed stock imagery from Wildlight.
Rights Managed photography
AAP Image brings you international news and sport coverage
from the world’s largest news agencies - Associated Press (AP), European Pressphoto
Agency (EPA) and Agence France-Presse (AFP). More than 1,000 new images are made
available daily from these agencies and other partners.
Celebrity and fashion photos are provided daily by specialised international affiliates
including ABACA (France, New York and LA), FAMOUS (UK), and Fashion Wire Daily (USA).
Our entertainment category includes images from Jennifer Graylock and Picture Perfect.
Red carpet events, award ceremonies and performances are also covered by AAP, AP
and AFP.
Travel is an expanding collection of images of cultural events, tourist attractions
and daily life in famous and obscure places. Our photos are sourced from international
agencies such as Roma Stock, Image Works (USA), and more than 100 Australian photographers.
Project Ready
Project Ready is a cost effective way to obtain a long-term, multi-use license for our high-quality images.
This new pricing module provides broad use of our images with a simple flat-rate pricing structure,
tied to a specific project. Project Ready images are only available under the Project Ready license
structure and cannot be supplied with a Rights Managed or Royalty Free license; however,
exclusive buy-out of Project Ready images is available for a negotiated fee.
